Shayni Couch
I dreamt of flight from a young age but I don’t remember ever making the conscious effort to bring it into my life. I think it was always in the back of my mind and intertwined itself into the choices I made, eventually leading me to do my AFF in Dubai in 2011. From there it became a huge part of my
existence. It is the lifestyle and family like no other.
I spent a lot of time flying with friends, both in the tunnel and the sky. Turns out those friends were some of the best in the biz! I would not say I had a very “normal” entry into skydiving and over time I realized how unique my situation was. Perhaps a bit naive to think that a 15way head down for my 100 th skydive was just another day at the DZ.
Needless to say I am beyond grateful for the opportunities I had then and where they have led me. All that time and knowledge given to me by my friends is something I would really like to pay forward as much as I can. I am constantly reminding myself that regardless of jump numbers or experience we can teach and we can learn, sometimes all at the same time!
I am inspired on the daily by my joy-sisters. Each of them walking their ownpath while still supporting and lifting each other and our community up. I am honored to be part of this team and what an epic opportunity to surround myself with A+ humans. To me, being a Joy Rider is about sharing my passion, it is to inspire, to learn, to create, to love, to play and of course to have fun!
